Artist
Natasha Wightman

Natasha Wightman is a British artist working across multiple disciplines. Her early training at Elmhurst Ballet School between the ages of 10 and 16 instilled in her a deep sensitivity to movement, precision, and artistic expression, qualities that continue to inform her creative practice today. With a commitment to placing British arts at the heart of her work, Wightman has also directed a series of films accompanying her works, collaborating with dancers from The Royal Ballet, Team GB Olympic breakers, and leading contemporary dancers.
Dedicated to the preservation of traditional craftsmanship, Wightman works closely with some of the UK’s most esteemed master artisans. Through her work, she ensures that their rare skills and time-honoured techniques are not only sustained but celebrated as integral elements of British cultural heritage. The results are intricate artworks that appear to emanate from another time and another world. Each piece is interwoven with layers of stories; the narrative of her materials, the symbolism of the design, the wilderness they depict and the deep history of ancient techniques employed. Through her exploration of Britain’s fragile landscapes and ecosystems, Wightman celebrates their resilience, acknowledges their vulnerability, and reminds us of what is at risk and is in need of our protection.
